About the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival of Multisport
The iconic Tauranga Half has been part of the Mount Maunganui summer since 1990, making it one of New Zealand’s longest running and most iconic triathlons.
In 2015 a selection of events were added to the Tauranga Half to create a festival that appeals to a wider range of people with varied athletic abilities. These events now sit under the umbrella of the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival of Multisport. Our goal is to get more people, more active, more often!
The Fulton Hogan Mount Festival events calendar has been carefully developed over the years with a range of events that include the Loan Market Oceanside Tauranga Half, AquaBike, and Waitoa Mount Festival Half Marathon.
Each event has its own identity and flavour but works together to provide athletes and the community with a broad and exciting experience.

This triathlon event, will be straight after the Ironman World Triathlon Championship in Taupo 2025. We look forward to seeing the world’s best compete at the Ironman Triathlon World Championship 70.3 in Taupo, which will see a range of age group athletes from all over the world race the 70.3 distance triathlon race.
As a long course Triathlon event, similar to Challenge, Ironman and PTO T100 – the Tauranga Half Ironman is a 2km swim, 90km bike and 21km run.
We have been excitedly watching the rise of the PTO T100 series and believe it is a fantastic addition to the world of triathlon.
This road running race, half marathon event (21km) with five kilometre (5km), and ten kilometre (10km) options, is hosted in the sunny Mount Maunganui, running oceanside on the same course as the iconic Tauranga Half Ironman. Part road running, part trail this in a running event for everyone.
You are treated to a flat, fast course with five on course aid stations, with electrolytes, gels, coke, bananas and is the only event of its kind that has an epic recovery lounge!
Whether you love road running, trail running, marathon running, or half marathon running – this is a road race for you!
We welcome elite runners through to beginner runners.
This new 100km distance style race is exciting to watch and is very similar in style to the Ironman 70.3, Challenge and Tauranga Half races.
Make sure you come on down and participate in the Tauranga Half Ironman Triathlon race for 2025!
