About the Pilot Bay Ocean Swim

The Pilot Bay Ocean Swim is making a splash at the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival!

There’s an option for everyone with an 800m, 2km or 3.7km option to choose from.

With prizes and finishers medals up for grabs plus all the excitement and atmosphere from the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival, this is an event not to miss!

2025 Pilot Bay Ocean Swim Event Schedule to come

This event runs 10 year age groups with your age calculated as of race day on the 21st of January.

Participants must be over 14 years of age on event day to participate in the 2km or 3.7km swim unless under special circumstances.

The official Age Categories for both men and women are as follows:

  • 10-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60-69
  • 70+

Note: Prizes are only awarded to 1st -3rd overall in each distance and not by age group

2025 Start List to come

Trophies will be awarded for 1st – 3rd Male and Female in each distance.

Finishers medals will be presented to all individual competitors at the finish line who finish within the cut off time. 

Finishers certificates will be available to download from results.racetiming.co.nz after your race.

The Athlete Recovery Lounge is open to all athletes to take some time to rest up and re-energize after crossing the finish line. There will be water, supplements, nutrition, sponsors products and massage available.

Massage – Post-race massage will be available in the Athlete Recovery Lounge

Prize Giving – Prize Giving will be at 5:00pm in Coronation Park

Prize Money across the Fulton Hogan Mount Festival is supported by Nick Berry’s Loan Market.

Prize Money in the Pilot Bay Ocean swim is for first place in 3.8km swim only.

Note: Figures are $NZ and New Zealand IRD rules apply.

Individual Prize money will be paid following the results of any Drug Testing if applicable.
