Welcome to the residents and business owners information page for the 2018 Mount Festival of Multisport.

Below you will find detail on road closures and timing during the weekend of the festival (Friday 19th January – Sunday 21st January 2018) and information for local businesses.

Residents and Business Owners Information
SMC Events is proud to host the Mount Festival of Multisport at Coronation Park and Pilot Bay in 2018.

This year the festival will include the Port of Tauranga Half, Under Armour Mount RunThe Little Big Markets, Night Owl Cinema and The Bay of Plenty Times NZ Beach Volleyball Champs.

Residents and business information will be updated by 1 December 2017.

 

All residents will receive a mail drop of the 2018 Residents Letter with information on the road closures during the festival, we do encourage to you stick this information on your fridge for easy access.

If you are a business operating within The Mall, Adams Ave, Marine Parade, Ocean Beach Road, Papamoa Beach Road or Parton Road you will receive a business information letter. A special delivery instructions map for Marine Parade / Adams Ave will be provided for all businesses who require delivery access on race day.

2017 Residents Letter – Whole Peninsula

Friday 19th January 2018 - Road Closures & Timing
The Mall/Salisbury Ave (from Prince Ave to Victoria Rd) will be closed from Friday 6.00am till Saturday 10pm

Road closure will not restrict access to the Port of Tauranga.

Please note “No Parking Restrictions” will be put in force on The Mall and Adams Ave between Prince Ave and Maunganui Road from 4.30am on Saturday the 20th of January – please ensure all vehicles are parked up driveways or on surrounding streets to prevent being towed.

Saturday 20th January 2018 - Road Closures & Timing
Road closures will be in place from 4.30am till 3.00pm from The Mall along the entire course down to Parton Road  / Papamoa Beach Road roundabout.

If you are a resident in this area you will still be able to access your property however we ask that you ensure you proceed with caution to the closest cross street to exit the course. Marshals will be placed on every street corner and will assist you in with alternate routes to get to your destination.

Please AVOID driving on the course at all times, if this is unavoidable please ensure you drive slowly and take extreme care and be aware of cyclists and runners.

Boat Ramp Closure
The Pilot Bay Boat Ramp will be closed from 4.30am until 3.00pm on Saturday – please note any boats launched prior to 4.30am will not be able to return until after 3.00pm. We recommend using Sulphur Point Boat Ramp.

Please under no circumstance park your vehicle and trailer in this car park as it being used as part of the course for several events.

We hugely appreciate your patience and ask that you seek alternative ramps to use over the festival weekend.

The Tauranga City Council will release a Summer Road Closure Map which will be posted here once released.
